Inaugural Recovery Softball Tournament Held at Campbell’s Field

(October 6, 2016) – On September 30, 2016, the Camden County Freeholder Board’s Addiction Awareness Task Force hosted the inaugural Recovery Softball Tournament to raise awareness for those battling opioid addiction.

“By bringing our community together on the ballfield, this annual event raises awareness for those who are battling addiction,” Freeholder Director Lou Cappelli said.

Teams that participated in the event included those in recovery, local law enforcement, community leaders and the Camden County Addiction Awareness Task Force.

Congressman Donald Norcross threw out the first pitch and the winning team was “The Outlaws”. The winning team received the Salvatore Marchese Memorial Trophy sponsored by SLK Partners. This is a travelling trophy and will be inscribed each year of the tournament.
